Down to Two Closers - Time to Trade for One?

Postby jmcampbe11 » Fri May 22, 2009 9:00 pm

Now that I'm down to two true closers is it time to explore a trade? I also need batting average help. See any trade potential with this team (strong in saves)? Maybe a trade for Helton or Braun and a closer? Crisp + another player for Helton and a closer? Sizemore + another player for Braun and a closer?

OTHER TEAM - Is weak in runs, SBs, and just about all of the pitching stats (other then saves).
C-Ianetta 1b-Berkman 2b-Uggla ss-Theriot 3b-C.Jones
OF-Braun, Ichiro, Bruce, Span, Swisher (*Ludwick)
CI-Huff MI-Bartlett (O.Hudson)
SP-Oswalt, Lowe, Schzerer, Maine, Bush, *Webb
RP-Nathan, Wilson, Hoffman, Rodney, Valverde

MY TEAM - Could use another closer and batting average boost.
C-Martin 1B-A.Gonzalez 2B-Phillips SS-Alx.Ramirez 3B-Longoria
OF-Sizemore, Hamilton, Ad.Jones, Dye, V.Wells
CI-Reynolds MI-Zobrist UTIL-Crisp
SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Carpenter, Lilly, Jimenez,*Smoltz
RP-Broxton, Qualls, Morrow, Howell, Wheeler

Wilson's the only player on his team that is for sure going to be a closer the rest of the season because of SF's lack of closers. He's also a buy low target right now.

You could probably go Ad. Jones for bruce and wilson for a two for one trade because jones is a beast right now and a great sell high.
Also you might want to look at Jason Isringhausen because he might be getting the closer job with the Rays because they have no RP's stepping up right now

Someone already beat me to Izzy and Bruce isn't a good fit because I'm already struggling in batting average.

Thanks for the help with mine. If you can pull it off, I would try to trade Crisp and another player (a good sp?) for Helton and Wilson/Hoffman
