Victorino for Magglio and Danks

Postby lgelowsk15 » Fri May 22, 2009 3:05 pm

I recently had a trade proposed to me in my league that would have me sending Shane Victorino and receiving Magglio Ordonez and either John Danks or Chris Young (P-Padres). Is this a good trade for me to make? This is a Rotisserie league and the only stats kept are R, HR, RBI, and Steals. W, SV, and K's are the only stats kept for pitching.

Same league I just had a trade come in that would have me sending Matt LIndstrom and Carlos Quinten for Torii Hunter and David Ortiz. I had Ortiz and released him about 2 weeks ago. Does this deal make any sense? Same scoring system as above. Just looking for a little help. Thanks to all who reply!

Both offers are very even. No one really has the upper hand, IMO. Victorino is a solid OF with great speed, but is playing poorly. Magglio and Danks are also buy-lows. I'd probably lean towards doing this one if you need SP and have excess speed. Magglio should hit for a high average and Danks should be a good SP for the second half.

The Quentin offer is pretty intriguing as well. I like Tori Hunter this year because the Angels have a very good offense and are very aggressive on the base paths. Q is struggling with injury, and Ortiz has bounce back potential. I'd probably pass on this deal just because you dropped Papi, and getting him back after you dropped him doesn't look nice. I'd ask for another player besides Papi.
