Trading Sizemore. What should I look for?

Postby mw24x » Fri May 22, 2009 12:22 pm

So my team has a low batting average and I cant keep carrying Sizemore and expect him to pick it up. I feel like selling him now while his name still means something because I really dont think he will be a top 5 player at the end of the year. He looks bad at the plate.

I offered Sizemore/Duke for Justin Upton/Greinke but I doubt that'll go through.

What should I be looking to get for Sizemore?

I also am about to give up hope on Ramirez and Burnett. I got them on the trading block aswell.

Batting:
C- K Suzuki
1B - Ad. Laroche
2B - Alexei Ramirez
3B - Chone Figgins
SS - Bartlett
OF- sizemore
OF - Quentin
OF - Markakis
Utl - Granderson
Utl - Rod Barajas
Bench - AJ Pierzinsky
Bench - Placido Polanco
Bench - Skip Schumaker

Pitching:
SP - Verlander
SP - Lester
SP - Burnett
SP - Kershaw
P - Dontrelle Willis
P - Zach Duke
P - Saunders
RP - Frank Francisco (DL)
RP - Justin Masterson
Bench - Sonnanstine
Bench - Matt Harrison

Thanks for the help!!

you're right duke and sizemore isnt going to be enough to get upton and greinke. greinke's value is extremely high right now.
I understand the motivation to move sizemore though he's got my team in nearly last in ba

To get greinke i think the second pitcher in your deal may need to be slightly more enticing but i probably wouldnt want to add much to sizemore.

Which other pitcher on my roster do you think I could add if this falls through?

I feel like Kershaw/Burnett/Lester are of too high value to be added to sizemore. Saunders MAYBE but he's been very good so far this year. Maybe I could switch Duke and Alexeir Ramirez (who is the WORST right now)?

Thanks for the help!

if this doesnt work i'd add saunders, I don't think he's going to maintain the stats he's putting up right now.

I'm a Sizemore owner and I have absolutely no interest in trading him away right now.

What would it accomplish? He's utterly destroyed his own value. There's simply no one out there that can match his skill set at the OF position. Your best course of action is to hold until further notice.

If I was the Upton/Greinke owner I'd reject that offer in .049 miliseconds, BTW.

to me SIzemore for J. Upton/Greinke is fair and depending on my team's situation I would probably take Sizemore - having said that, if the guy loves players who are currently playing well, then of course he will reject it..... in my league I just gave J. Upton/Holliday for Sizemore (but Upton was on my bench most of the time), but trading Sizemore at this point is selling low, which is never a good strategy

Well I need my average to go up and I don't think Sizemore will really turn it around that much. He is near the mendoza line.
And my league is not a keeper league.

How about Burnett/Saunders/Ad. Laroche for Youkilis/Bedard/Heath Bell. I realize I'm dreaming on this one but I want to start low and have players counter and take it from there.

What do you think I need to improve most on my team? Saves is obviously a huge issue but I hate trading for a closer...

No it's head to head. And I wanted to trade Sizemore because my OF is stacked already.

in H2H average is not as crucial - guys get hot week to week so AVG would be the last category I would focus on personally
