Billingsley for Carlos Lee or Bay? WHIR 100%

Postby Hit Factory » Fri May 22, 2009 9:46 am

Hey there, I was offered Carlos Lee for Chad Billingsley, or should I go for Jason Bay instead? I could use the hitting but I am afraid that if I lose Chad I would be cutting it to thin with SP. I am in a small 8 team, 5x5 roto league. What do you think, WHIR 100%

My current team:
Inge
Tex
Utley
Wright
Tejada
kemp
Ichiro
B.J. Upton
Justin Upton
Util: Adrian Gonzalez
Util: Prince Fielder
BN: Alex Rios

Bedard
James Shields
Peavy
Heath Bell
Fuentes
Billingsley
BN: Waingwright
BN: Qualls

I would hang tight. I dont know if you need the hitting that much in return for making your pitching a liability. However, if you are an active guy and can make pitching moves throughout the week, you could fill the hole Bills left by submitting pitchers on the waiver that have good matchups. I hope this helps.

I need a quick answer to this question: viewtopic.php?t=386374

Typically i view the rule as you always go for big bats over the big arms, so I would lean towards you taking this deal. At the very worst you find yourself a little too think at SP and you trade for someone as good, if not better than Billingsly with Lee or someone else.

I've never played in 8 team but I say you take Lee

it leaves you a little thin at SP but in a league that small theres sure to be some decent pitching on the FA wire later.
If i had a choice i'd rather have bay than lee... more chances for RBI's

See if you can do Shields for Bay instead ... I just like Bills more for some reason -- fewer encounters with BOS and NY and TOR... better yet, see if the guy will do a 2-for-2 ... Shields and J.Upton for Bay and a solid SP like a Ted Lilly. I had J.Ups last year and he had a scorching 3 weeks and then fell off the planet. He WILL be amazing at some point, but if this is not a keeper, then perhaps make the move.
