Hanley Ramirez for S. Drew/McLouth/Lester?? WHIR

Postby harold_bush » Thu May 21, 2009 1:57 pm

Stephen Drew and Alexei have combined to get me zero production from my SS position, and I need some power. Hanley is on the market, what do you think of this deal?

I can handle losing Drew and Lester, but am a big McLouth fan and hate to lose him. If I did the deal I would either play Alexei at utility, or could pick up a free agent. Some of the free agent names available are Derek Lee, Nick Johnson, Mike Cameron, Branyan, Atkins (if he can ever turn the corner), Kendry Morales, Casey Blake, Thome, Kubel, Laroche, Zobrist, etc.

Thanks for your help, and leave a link and I'll help you.

DO it -- Kubel and Morales are very productive WW options for you.

Based on production so far this year, this is an easy one. It's pretty much Mclouth for Ramirez. You'd have to go for it. But, this season is still young. If Drew and Lester were performing up to expectations, you wouldn't be considering it. There's plenty of time for your players that are under performing to turn things around. There's the argument of not making any fantasy trades until half way through the season. I think that approach applies here. I'd give things some time before giving up on what you have. But, I wouldn't be opposed to you trying a 2-for-1 for Ramirez...even if it's not nearly as likely to go through.

I would do it. I have been riding Blake all season. There are enough good WW options to make up for what you lose and you get the best fantasy player in the game.

This is a no brainer. You are giving up 3 mid round talents for a top 3 fantasy player. Do it.

Help please
