Mad Max and Wainwright?

Postby YardBirds » Thu May 21, 2009 4:05 am

Wainwright is going up against the Cubbies, which have been looking "less than adequate" at the plate, so I am thinking of starting him, predicting his line to be 7 IP, 7h, 2 ER, 1BB, 7K with the W.

The tougher decision is whether or not to give Mad Max the ball @ Fla. He has looked fair to good his last couple outings, and is going up against a team that put in a double header. Tired bats, could mean higher Ks. But, if FLA is ready to play and can start hitting him, he'll likely be stuck out there for awhile since the Zona bullpen was just about used up last night.

What do you think, I'm pretty solid on starting Wainwright, and I'd say leaning toward giving Mad Max the ball.

Good luck getting many replies in this particular forum - it's completely dead.

To answer your question though - if it makes you feel any better I own them and am starting both. Wainwright has a career 3.50 ERA/2-0 record v the Cubs, and the Marlins love to strike out. I definitely don't expect a win from Mad Max because his offense may be the worst in MLB, but he'll be piling on the the K's and post decent ratios I reckon...
