Hey everyone,
I've been offered Mark Reynolds and the 3rd overall free agent pick this week for Vernon Wells and Jose Guillen. Our league has one day of free agent selections every week. I have the 8th overall this week and am being offered the 3rd plus Reynolds for Wells and Guillen. It's a 5x5 roto 14 team keeper league. My roster is:
C R. Hernandez
C V. Martinez
1B Morneau
2B Alexei Ramirez
3B Branyan
SS Hardy
MI Kelly Johnson
CI Scutaro
OF V. Wells
OF Beltran
OF Holliday
OF Cust
OF Hawpe
Util Hairston
Bench Weeks (will drop this thursday for free agent selections)
Bench Nady
Bench E. Encarnacion
Bench Luke Scott
Bench J. Guillen
Then my group of pitchers. If you think it's relevant, I'll post them, but I'm not sure it is for this trade.
So with the 3rd pick overall I think I'd like to grab Jason Heyward to lock him up. This league is really on top of top prospects and he is out there so I think it'd be a good idea to jump on him. With my 8th pick I'd grab the best available pitcher (hopefully Rich Hill or Jorge de la Rosa, but I might be able to find something else out there). My question is, am I giving up too much in sending V. Wells plus Jose Guillen for Mark Reynolds and the 3rd free agent pick (potentially Jason Heyward)?
A counter offer I have in mind is Scutaro plus Guillen (or Cust if he wants) for Reynolds and the 3rd free agent pick. Is that enough? After Reynolds' big day, I think it might take Wells and Guillen to get him and the 3rd overall pick even though I really don't want to have to sacrifice Wells. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Please leave links and I'll get to them in the morning ASAP! It's bedtime for me and I'm out of it, but I will definitely follow up on your threads.
