First year Keeper, Help.

Postby bcbhockey68 » Wed May 20, 2009 11:28 pm

The first question is, this is my first keeper league and I have too many people that should and on any other team would be kept. What do I do about this, should be looking to package some keepers for better keepers (like a stud pitcher) or should I just leave my team the way it is with the exception of doing small trades for better pitching?

Second question is which catcher do I pick up?

Kurt Suzuki
Iván Rodríguez

I like Suzuki, I drafted him because I had Mauer and he has done very well so far. Hernandez is probably a very close second for me. Ivan's age scares me.

Who do you see as your 5 keepers?

I see Tex, Pedroia, Rollins, and Braun for sure.

and then probably Lee or Granderson, you think or if Upton tears it up the rest of the season (2HR tonight) then I would think about keeping him.

Keepers:
1. Teixeira
2. Braun
3. Pedroia
4. Zimmermann
5. Upton/Lee (Lee is better now and may be better later, but Upton has bigger upside)

I can see an outside argument for Granderson or even Rollins, but I don't think they're in the same class as the others.

Would you trade a couple of those Lee/Rollins/Granderson for better pitching/or a quality keeper pitcher?
