Downs or B. Wilson?

Postby kearney » Wed May 20, 2009 8:36 pm

Who would you rather have from here on out? Downs is on my WW and I'm thinking of dropping Wilson for him. I have to start two closers and my other one is Hoffman.

Who do you think is gonna get more save chances. Brian Wilson has been closer for a couple years so I go with him on experience. Toronto has been winning alot of games so if downs stays healthy and effective lots of save opportunities. I think you go with Brian Wilson.

Downs is the more dominant pitcher; however, there may still be a chance he returns to a Marmol-esque role if Ryan becomes effective/consistent/healthy. I'd rather have Downs and take the gamble that Ryan doesn't pitch himself back into the role.

Wilsons job security is higher.

Wilson gets you the saves and job security you are probably looking for in a reliever - although I love Downs ratios, he may not even be the closer long term

Downs is better, but Wilson is the safer choice. Wilson should have more sv opportunities.
