He used it meaning he had a narrow view of the fans acting crazy since they did it last year. At least that's the only way I can see it being used and still making sense.

A narrow view? Myopia has nothing to do with peripheral vision. Myopic means that you can see close things but you need corrective lenses in order to clearly see distant objects.

So if he wants to make an ironic statement that Ken can see what's happening across the continent but can't even see that the exact same thing is happenining in his own backyard I think that he means the exact opposite of myopic. He should have said "this thread proves to me how hypermetropic Boston fans are"

right?

Either that or Aqua was just criticizing his eyesight as I first suspected. But if you that route your smack talk really needs work and you should also criticize his double chin and backhair.
