The point of this was to ask whether or not his velocity was way down or if there was anything to indicate an injury. People's opinions on their bullpen isn't really that helpful.

For the record. Rafael Perez was quite good last year. Go look at the numbers.

His velocity was good... He was reaching 94-97 mph all the time.

The problem was with his location.

He'll be fine.

Who would be the best option if I was going to reach for a guy that could replace Woods if he were to lose the job/get hurt?

I'd say Jensen Lewis is a better pickup than Betancourt, but it's a tough call...

I stand corrected, Perez was pretty good last year according to the stats. This year is a totally different story though. Didn't they send him down to AAA recently??
