with the third pick?

Postby guest » Sun Mar 14, 2004 9:08 pm

I am drafting third tonight in our league. I know that Pujols and A rod will go before me. I am leaning towards Alfonso Soriano as the third pick and then trying to get an ace (Halladay / Schilling) in the second round and then pick up either a 3B or SS in the third (Rolen / Renteria). What do you think of this strategy, and would I be better off looking at Vlad with the third pick and hope for Brett Boone to fall to me in the second round. Thanks in advance.

I don't trust Soriano so I would like Helton/Delgado/beltran. Guerrero is also a great pick.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

I would go Soriano with Helton as a #2 choice if you went with someone other than Sori.

Take Soriano.

The Rangers are slated to do more "base running" this season and that suits Soriano to a tee. He has the chance to post close to 40 steals if this is indeed true.

Just my .02 cents.

To me, Soriano-Arod-Pujols should go 1-3 in any order. They are a tier above the 4-7 guys (Vlad/Beltran/Helton/Prior).

I'd choose Soriano in a heartbeat.

This is a very popular question: who to take after Pujols and A-Rod. Soriano is your man. Before the trade I would have suggested Beltran, but now that Fonsi is batting at the top of the order in a better hitter's park, it's gotta be him.

Soriano. It's so relieving not having to worry about 2B for the rest of the draft. You can probably still get a good 1B past the 10th round.
