Gamel Opportunity?

With Weeks shut down for the year does this open the door for Gamel somewhere as a full time player? I know its not his position but can the team move some players around now to get him in there?

No, Gamel will get some starts at 3rd and DH in interleague play. Alicedes Escobar would be changed to 2B before any major shuffle would happen. Gamel is capable of playing great at 3rd, but very inconsistent as we saw Monday, Great diving play then later had a throwing error. Brewers have no more outfield spots to throw him into. If Hall went down instead of Weeks, Gamel would have a shot, but not yet.

Counsell and Mcgehee are going to platoon at 2b for now, A. Escobar is going to switch to 2b at AAA and after a while he'll get the call. Manager said Gamel gets more ABs because they need the power with the loss of Weeks.

Gamel will probably play 3B against righties while Hall goes against lefties. It's unfortunate because Gamel was crushing lefties in AAA, but Hall is terrible vs righties so they have to platoon. It will probably be a frustrating ride with Gamel the rest of the way only because it will require daily lineup monitoring, but he's definitely worth consideration as a keeper and I would expect next season he will have a full-time job.

Well, I know Gamel is going to DH in the interleague series at Minnesota. So he'll get some AB's there, but beyond that I would imagine it will be a platoon situation with Hall. Gamel can hit no question about that, I'm hoping he gets more of an opportunity to play because I'm considering picking him up too. He's not a great fielder and that's why he's not going to play everyday.
