Huge 5 for 5 Trade - Need Help Assessing - WHIR

Postby jmcampbe11 » Mon May 18, 2009 9:51 am

I know this trade is a bit hard to digest, but let me know your first impressions. My goal is to improve my batting avg. Also, I can probably flip either Abreu or Crisp for more of a power guy in another trade.

I GIVE-----------------I GET
A.Gonzalzez---------M.Cabrera
Hamilton-------------Markakis
Ad.Jones-------------Zimmerman
Reynolds-------------Choo
Dye-------------------Abreu

MY TEAM (10 Team roto league, we keep 3 players each season)
C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-Alx.Ramirez 3b-Longoria CI-Reynolds MI-J.Lopez/Zobrist OF-Sizemore, Hamilton, Dye, V.Wells, Ad.Jones UTIL-Crisp
SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Lilly, Carpenter, Nolasco, Jimenez, *Smoltz
RP-Broxton, Qualls, Percival, Morrow

you really need a ss. Getting Cabrera is great but I think you are over paying.

Thanks for helping with mine.....

At first glance....heck, at all the times I have looked at your I love what you are getting without a doubt!!!

I mean: A Gonzalez is playing lights out with the HR's right now but CAB is the man and has better Avg and is just a better overall player. Markakis is by far way better then Hamilton IMO. I love A.Jones but Zimmerman has been getting the hit streaks going all year and is just dominate and not sure how Jones' Hammy will hold up for the year. I also like Choo slightly better and I do like Dye a little better then Abreau but it's really close and the increase of production and greatness you gain from all the others then I say it is well worth it.

Take this and take it with a smile!!!

Good job and good luck!!!

I like this overall, I dont see the necessity of it though. I mean youre getting the better deal averaged out over 5 players, IMO Ad. Jones and Reynolds are replaceable from the WW with ROY candidates if you look hard enough, so I like that you are getting 5 players that you could not get off the WW in any league. Theres a little more upside in your direction, but Im not a fan of the 1B for 1B, OF for OF type of trades, I would try to get a SS instead of another OF, but maybe you can get one of those form the WW too.

I like what you would be getting more than what you are trading.

I agree with what hes saying. why do you need a zimmerman if you all ready have longoria... You all ready have AGon and longoria, theres no need to trade for Miguel Cabrera. Abreu is also past his prime with his homeruns, while Dye still has something left in him. If it were pure stats you were looking at I'd take this trade, but there are other things in your team that i would improve on than OF and courner infielders. If you want to improve on anything it would be getting a solid SS.

Id stand pat. Id rather have the mashing duo of Hamilton and Agonz over Mcab and Zimmerman. Ajones may already = Markakis as well if not on his way to surpassing him. the rest of the pieces... id rather have Reynolds and Dyes power than Choo's upside and Abreu's suck.
Without ME it would just be AWESO.
