Interesting Adam Dunn Trade....How badly do I need his power

Postby TheBambino » Mon May 18, 2009 1:08 am

Been offered Manny for Dunn straight up.... neither of these would be a keeper for next year..

With Holliday heating up and needing Willie in the lineup for steals ... Im having to bench good players these days... so maybe having manny on my bench for a while wont be too bad for my team.... what do you guys think? should I do this?

The Big Donkey is as skinny as I have seen him since breaking in with Cincy. He's hitting for a good average, and while I don't think he'll be hitting over .300 at the season's end (I look for him to finish north of .270) he's still going to improve greatly upon his career numbers. The guy with ManRam is desperate to rid himself of a problem, I say, squeeze him for something else that can help you now along with ManRam if you really want him.

thanks for the help... He really doesnt have much else that I would need.... is it still a good trade to do? Until he gets back I would be playing Grady, Holliday, Pence and Adam Jones ... with Taveras in util for steals (whenever he decides to run!) Then when he gets back Im going to have to figure something out!

Dunn for Manny?

With Aramis out too you probably need to pull the trigger on this one. Given the amount of games Manny will miss I think Dunn is fair value.

Help with mine plz - viewtopic.php?t=385676

Looking at your lineup, I think you need Dunn's power.

Don't make the trade.

good luck

I really don't think you should do this deal. It sounds like the impetus is to find a way to start Taveras for a few stolen bases that IMO you really won't need. You already start BRob and Sizemore and should nab plenty of additional steals from guys like Jones, Holloiday, Pence, and Jeter. Chasing steals with a guy who absolutely lacks any power isn't the way to go with an ultra valuable OF/U slot. Keep the bopper, he'll help you more. ;-D

I'd take this trade. You're playing for 1st place, not more wins.
