I don't know about you guys, but I think this is Nolasco's "show me something or get cut" game. On paper, it should be a fantastic start. He's at home. He faces a low-scoring team. He's a strikeout pitcher facing a team that strikes out a lot. He's done very well against the D-Backs in the past. But of course, there's the negative. Just a little thing really. It just that ... HE ABSOLUTELY SUCKS THIS YEAR!!! Sorry about that ... had to let it out (speaking as someone who drafted Nolasco on a couple of squads, and keeps trotting him out there thinking "this'll be the start he turns it around")
Anyway ... is anyone starting him? Is anyone benching him, but also ready to drop him if he sucks again? Does anyone still even own this loser?
I may be dumb, but I'm thinking of starting him. I play in H2H leagues, and unless it's late in the week and I know specifically how the pitching matchup is playing out, I generally like to start all the SPs I bother to roster. That way I don't second-guess myself. But it's just so depressing when someone bombs on Monday to start your week.

you'd really keep a virtual unknown in Palmer over Ricky Nolasco? He still has a 35:12 K/BB ratio. This game is a big test, but he'll be riding the pine in the leagues I own him. It will take a few good starts for me to regain confidence in him. Even if he pitches well against Ari, I don't think I'd start him vs TB. If that's the kind of control he's going to show when he's terrible, I'm drooling over what kind of numbers will show up when he starts pitching well again.
I am rolling the dice with Nolasco vs the snakes today... i am real close to dumping him for a streamer spot if he doesn't deliver... he already killed my era and whip once... cross my finGers he wakes up today...
