Rickie Weeks - Out for 2009 season (left wrist tear)

That sucks so bad for him. He finally looked like he might have blossomed into a good player this year.

I know. The worst part is that you have to suspect the wrist injury could seriously affect his ability to hit for power next year.

Rickie's 22-year old brother, Jemile (a 2B in the Oakland minor league system and the 12th overall pick last year), is also developing a history of injuries.

He had "an injury-marred 2007 season" as a sophomore in college. Then last year, he suffered a season-ending hip injury 19 games into his first minor league season.

I'm beginning doubt that Rickie Weeks will ever stay healthy long enough to get 500 AB in a season.

So does this mean Counsell takes over full time at 2nd base? Besides Hall moving over there to put Gamel in at third what are the other options?

I just dropped Weeks for Alicedes Escobar. Read he can flat rake and fly. If the Brewers bring him up, who knows, might end up with more value than that bum Weeks.

If you have a deep bench, Escobar is worth holding for a week or so, just in case.
