Cuddyer or Reyes?

I need someone to fill in at RF while Nevin is down. The best two options are Mike Cuddyer and Rene Reyes. Neither is guarenteed a spot.

Which do you think has a better shot of starting regularly?

The average age of the Colorado outfield trio is 34. Walker and Burnitz are in the final stages of their grossly injury plagued careers. In addition, Preston Wilson has not been too healthy this spring.

The average age of the Minnesota outfield trio is 29. Shannon Stewart and Torii Hunter do not strike me as big injury risks. So the best hope Cuddyer has for playing time is an injury to Jaque Jones.

Thus, I would gamble on Rene Reyes.

Cuddyer right now is slated to be the Twins utility man for the coming season, seeing action at second and third as well as the outfield, so he'll probably see Denny Hockingesqe type AB totals this season. Maybe 250 AB this season, but a lot of the time he'll be entering games halfway through and just getting an AB or two.

Wow, I thought you were asking about Jose Reyes and Cuddyer when I read the title. Glad to see its Rene.

That said, I would go with Cuddyer. He will get some ab's as a utilitiy guy and there is a good chance jacque jones will be traded this year before his contract runs out, opening a slot up for cuddyer.
