will cahill develop into a reliable number 3-4 starter? and have some sort of consistency and cut down on the walks? He kills my WHIP and by the time he pitches Ive already lost the pitching categories(era and whip) so i let him pitch

What do you mean develop? Do you mean this year? Then it's possible. Do you mean in his career? He has #1 or 2 potential in his future.

Medlen wlll never be a top of rotation pitcher. He was intended to be a bullpen guy from the get go. He'll likely end up like a Marmol. Brilliant as a SP in the minors, doesn't translate too well as a starter in the majors, ends up as a top tier reliever, maybe even closer.
