Espn has him listed as the 11th best batter in baseball this year. Not bad for a 16th round pick.

Looking at targeting him in a trade, you guys think he'll be able to keep up similar numbers all season? I remember pre-season people were talking about Cruz being a sleeper and breakout candidate.

Don't really know if he is a guy to "target"... there is no way to avoid overpaying for him right now. Certainly a guy to HOLD, but I don't know if he's the kind of guy you can go out and get in a trade because owners (myself included) are going to be expecting full price.

Apparently there are people in this thread who dropped him so he was available for a while there.

FWIW i got Miggy for Cruz and Felix about a week and a half ago (of course Miggy pulls the hammy right after)

His 2008 numbers as a September call-up were inflated by a .388 BABIP.

This year only Chris Davis, Jordan Schafer, Carlos Pena, Mark Reynolds, and Ryan Howard have lower contract rate than Cruz's 68.7%... and those guys are batting a combined .233.

Prior to his most recent hot streak I was able to get Cruz for Millwood. I think I'm going to win that trade.
