i'm pretty sure there is no way for him to unseat fowler in cf. he is the future of that position. maybe he can play a corner, but they're packed too.

He's the probably future RF / CF . Before I call him up, i'd REALLY like to see him continue a good k/bb ratio, as that's been his major downfall his whole career. If he can cut the Ks and increase the BB, watch out my friends!

When they trade Atkins (which might be hard with his numbers so far)... They might even need to trade someone else. There OF right now consists of: Hawpe, Fowler, Seth Smith, Spilborghs, Matt Murton and occasionally Ian Stewart.

The Rockies are reportedly set to promote Carlos Gonzalez and designate Jason Grilli for assignment.

Matt Murton will also be sent down, while reliever Matt Daley will come off the disabled list. Promoting Gonzalez while failing to make a change with any of the top four outfielders is the act of an obviously desperate team without any real sort of plan. Ryan Spilborghs may lose the most at-bats to Gonzalez, but Seth Smith, who has deserved much better treatment this year, also figures to see his playing time decline further.
