In a H2H pts league I'm in, I have an open spot on my pitching staff. The following players are currently free agents. Which pitcher do you feel will fare best over the rest of the 2009 season?
-Jorge De La Rosa - nice K potential and has improved, but he plays at Coors. -Scott Richmond - April's AL Rookie of the Month was lit up by the Yankees earlier this week -Eric Stults - Pitches well, but normal IP's and Kuroda's eventual return raise question marks -Nick Blackburn - Is either really good or really bad. -Rick Porcello - Bright future, but Willis/Bonderman returns and reduced pitch count will hurt. -Matt Harrison - Back-to-back CG's for the Rangers, but is he for real? -Matt Palmer - Pitching very well for the Angels, but probably won't stick in the rotation much longer. -Mike Pelfrey/John Lannan/Kyle Davies/Sean Marshall - Had some pre-season sleeper hype, mixed success so far. EDIT: Brett Cecil may be an option soon too. The guy with him right now spot starts a lot of his pitchers, so seeing him in FA would not be shocking.
I could also attempt some spot-starting with a few of these pitchers (De La Rosa @ Pitt for today), though a few other teams in my league do the same thing and I don't fully trust the system.

Thanks for the reply with mine. I like Marshall. I think as long as they keep him in the rotation (with Zambrano coming back), he will get stronger as the season progresses.
De La Rosa intrigues me the most. He finished last year strong and has the best K potential of this group. Sure he pitches at Coors but he keeps the ball on the ground enough to get the job done.
Hal·la·day, n. 1. every fifth day in Philadelphia. 2. a day of rest for the bullpen. 3. innings eater. 4. doc. 5. ace.
Oof those are some ugly choices, I'd probably go with porcello, with my dark horse being scott richmond, those guys will probably be available on the wire for a while if you wanted to spot start the good matchups/ hot hand as well
Thanks guys. The rest of my staff is pretty solid, but I'd like one more SP which is why I ask about these WW guys. We can have up to 12 starts a week, so getting 1 or 2 starts from these guys will help (as long as they don't tank). A lot of it is going to be playing matchups, but if I can acquire one guy here who I can hold onto for awhile, that would be nice.
I owned Richmond for a few weeks, now De La Rosa is on the roster (nice K potential and stats suggest he should do a decent job tonight). If De La Rosa tanks, I'll probably end up grabbing one of the other guys you suggested.
