Is Delgado Droppable?....WHIR

Postby Tom Emanski AllStars » Thu May 14, 2009 10:02 pm

1) Is Delgado droppable in a 10 team league, i've been trying to trade him even before the hip injury resurfaced and no bites.

Matt Wieters is sitting on the WW :-)
EDIT: Garrett Atkins (just dropped)
Johnny Perralta is also sitting on the WW (maybe will soon gain 3b elgibility)

Available 1b on the WW:
    Kendry Morales
    Paul Konerko
    Billy Butler
    Adam LaRoche
    Matt LaPorta
    Jose Lopez
    James Loney

2) Is it ok to trade away Jacoby Ellsbury, when Michael Bourn, Willy Taveras, and Dexter Fowler on the WW?

10 team - H2H- 6x6 - redraft - daily changes
(R,HR,RBI,AVG,OBP,SB --- W,QS, SV,K,ERA,WHIP)

C-Pablo Sandoval (c/1b/3b)

3B-David Wright (3b)
SS-Troy Tulowitzki (ss)
OF-Alfonso Soriano (of)
OF-Jacoby Ellsbury (of)
OF-Raul Ibanez (of)
Util-Adam Dunn (1b/of)
BN-Carlos Delgado (1b) (dl)
BN-Adam Jones (of)
BN-Justin Upton (of)

SP-Johan Santana
SP-Aaron Harang
RP-Joakim Soria (dl)
RP-Jonathan Broxton
P-Heath Bell
P-Daisuke Matsuzaka (dl)
P-Matt Cain
BN-Ubaldo Jiminez- i keep one roster spot open to rotate in spot starters or fill positions
BN-Clayton Kershaw
DL-John Lackey

Soria is currently in the DL spot, so i won't have to drop anyone when Lackey comes back.

Unless you are REALLY pressed for roster space he's not droppable in a 10 team league.

Can you vote plz viewtopic.php?t=385092

In general, I'd say no; he's not droppable. However, I'd say that when Weiters comes up, he'll be roughly equal to Delgado, and really, there's a chance that he'll make it back before Delgado. A lot of the reports I've heard (and I mean a lot, I'm a Mets fan) suggest that he may be out a while. Such things do not portend well for the future. I'd like to think that you could find some value for him in a deal, even for a much lesser player, but the next great ballplayer might be better than what you'd get anyway.

Go for it!

yea i can wait a couple of days, of course it doesn't help that yahoo sports puts up a front page article about Wieters.

whats the significance of Murphy working at 1B? i thought he's been taking GB there for a week or two now.
