Postby wallywojo » Thu May 14, 2009 11:17 am

5x5 Mixed H2H 10 team

I give Joba Chamberlain + Ludwick
I get Perkins, Lilly + Carlos Pena

I am struggling mightily with pitching. Statwise (even though it is H2H) my numbers look like this:
Last in ERA at 5.04, 9th in WHIP at 1.41, 9th in Ks at 247

Our league cats:

My Roster:
C Ivan Rodriguez
1B Derrek Lee
2B Dan Uggla
3B David Wright
SS Michael Young
2B/SS J.J. Hardy
1B/3B Chipper Jones
OF Carlos Quentin
OF Raul Ibanez
OF Jerry Hairston Jr.
OF Shin-Soo Choo
UTIL Josh Hamilton
Bench Geovany Soto
Bench Adam LaRoche
Bench Chris Coghlan

DL Ludwick

P Scott Downs
P Michael Wuertz
SP Joba Chamberlain
SP Chris Young
SP Javier Vazquez
SP Kevin Slowey
SP Barry Zito
RP Brad Lidge
RP Joe Nathan
RP Juan Cruz

DL Joakim Soria

I like the upgrade you're getting at 1B with Pena, but since you're objective is to upgrade your pitching, I don't think you're really upgrading that much here. Lilly and Joba are fairly equal, but you're giving up all the upside and K potential. Perkins is very 'meh'. I'd sub out those two pitchers for a more talented SP instead, that would make it a better deal for you.

This trade doesnt thrill me for you. While I think Lily is a bit underrated, i'm not sure losing Joba to get those two really helps upgrade your pitching. I don't think i'd do it.

Joba is getting hot, he did very good in his last start. Give this trade a thumbs down.

I ended up getting the same two guys for Escobar and I took that without consideration.

Thanks for the help.
