I already have Brandon Webb and Manny Ramirez on my bench (Adam Jones might be joining them too), even if he comes back in a month (which is unlikely) how good can he be with a bum shoulder?
I was fortunate to use a late round pick on Cantu, so as long as he can produce I'm good at 3rd (I also have Blalock)
I certainly wouldn't blame you for cutting bait on him at this point, especially if you need the space. Somebody will pick him up though, count on that. Maybe you try and trade Manny? With Aramis though, reading between the lines it sounds to me that surgery is a real possibility.
redraft league - not much value. Most people will realize that he's only coming back for the final 2 months.
When my Aramis went down, I flipped A. Soriano for A. Rodriguez.
Here was my thought process: 1. I can try and trade Aramis, and grab a replacement 3B option (Teahen was best available).
Or
2. Trade an OF for a 3B (such as AROD and keep Aramis). This was the better option, as I was starting J.Upton, Cruz and Soriano @ OF, Prince @ UTIL, Pujols @ 1B, and Bruce was riding pine. This trade allowed me to get Bruce (and his 10 HR) into my everyday line up. Thus, ARod + J. Bruce starting every day >> Soriano + Teahen starting everyday.
Figure out what's best for you team, and get something done.
This is exactly what I referred to in my previous posting about the media's ignorance on using proper terminology with injuries: According to Yahoo: "This was the worst of his three separations, he said, with a doctor having to force the shoulder back in the socket..." The description by ARam that the doctor had to put the shoulder back into joint clearly indicates a true dislocation, and not a "separation" at all; again, 2 totally different joints with different recoveries.
The Yahoo report went on to indicate that the physicians would re-evaluate after his "recovery" to determine if he needed surgery to "tighten" the joint. This reinforces what I described in earlier postings about the severity of dislocations and the possibility of surgery and prolonged absence from playing.
In any event, this does not seem to bode well for ARam for the rest of the season. If he indeed has had 3 previous dislocations (and not separations as reported), it would indicate that he has a pretty loose shoulder that will require surgery. Expect at least an 8 week absence, but quite possibly season ending.
I also own him in one league, and will wait it out for 1 week to see if there are any updates. However, I will probably be dropping him, as I think this will be a season ending situation.

soccer yank - i agree with you and good post - i project (i could be totally wrong) that he will take a bit longer than estimated and best case come back as a pinch hitter or something, but I really don't have a lot of faith in him to recover. If it was another, less injury prone player that wasn't enduring his 3rd shoulder injury, I might stash him...but I don't think Aram will really be back to the player we drafted this year
