i wouldn't do this. you already have phillips at 2b, broxton is your best reliever, and grady makes your OF very strong with hamilton in there. no need to do this, and burrell is beyond a bum.

thanks for the help
Sizemore is really killing battting avg though...and I could always trade Phillips to another team after the fact. I don't like the idea of giving up Broxton either so maybe I counter with Qualls and ask for Lind (over Burrell)? I'm just throwing ideas out there...
If you can talk him into giving you Cantu or even Rollins over Burrell, I would probably do that deal just to get Utley more than anything else. Burrell is worthless though. Maybe he is fed up with Rollins enough to deal him away?

I think he'd do Sizemore/Broxton for Utley/Cantu. Still feels like I'm giving up too much though. Broxton's the best RP in the game right now. I'm willing to concede Utley's worth a little more then Sizemore, but the gap between someone like Broxton and Cantu seems much bigger. Plus I'd be losing a TON og SBs and one of my legitmate closers (can I really count on Percival or Morrow?). Arghhhh. I love the idea of getting Utley, but maybe this just won't work.
Yeah I would not argue that. That said, I find that getting someone to pay through the nose for a closer, no matter how good is pretty tough, esp. early in the season. Closers are always worth more to the guy that has one that he wants to deal than to the guy that doesn't who wants to acquire one. That is simply the way it is usually unless you get into a situation where someone thinks he needs to overpay for the one piece that will win him the league...and it is too early for that.
In a keeper I happen to like Utley more than Sizemore. So it comes down to how much you like Sizemore and how much you feel you need to get for Broxton. Like I said, if you can talk him into Rollins I do it easily, though the liklihood he does that is slim to none imo. You never know what a person's frustration\panic level is though. I would not do the deal if all I got back as the second player is Burrell.
Sizemore is a good player. He is in a little bit of a slump, but like all good hitters he will come out of it. He wont hit around .300 like Utley but he should hit a solid .275.
You allready have Phillips at second so you dont nead Utley as much as you need Sizemore. Your OF is pretty strong right now, especially with what Adam Jones is doing (btw he got hurt tonight) and Burrell wont help you at all. Burrell is basicly going to hit the same amount of HR's as Sizemore with a little lower average and a lot less steals.
I havent even mentioned Broxton yet, who may be the best closer in the NL.
Your just giving up way to much just to get Utley.
