A. Gonzales for Liriano/Loney

Postby kailromanoff » Wed May 13, 2009 8:47 pm

Without getting too deep into my team setup, its a deep 12 team roto and I'm killing the power stats, with a low average and little depth in the SP category. Is this deal worth considering?

C: Pierzynski
1b: A Gonzalez
2b: Kendrick
ss: Reyes
3b: Lowell
ci: C. Pena
mi: K. Matsui
OF(5) Quentin, Soriano, H. Matsui, N. Morgan, E. Byrnes,
Bnch: M Cuddyer, C. Maybin, C. Coghlan, Weiters

SP Beckett
SP J. Johnson
SP E. Jackson
RP K-Rod
RP Zumaya
P Volstad
P Oswalt
P T. Pena
Bnch T. Hanson
DL Escobar
DL Lackey

I just traded Ibanez for Oswalt and I'm -50 IP on the season pace

It's a tough call due to your situation BUT Gonzales should be able to get you a much better pitcher than a struggling Liriano. I'd go after a better pitcher.

Agreed that I should wait for a stronger SP for Adrian, but is Loney enough of a kicker to make it worth it?

you need to get more for A-Gonz - there is no guarantee Liriano turns things around IMO

Even if Liriano was pitching well this still wouldn't be enough to land A-Gon.
You should be able to land a pitcher a long the lines of a Dan Haren or Chad Billingsley

Loney is not enough to push this trade in your favor. I would go after a better pitcher along the lines of Bills.

Yeah, I tried for Bills already...he didn't bite. No one seems to be letting go of their aces even for a stud like adrian. I have tried similar tractics for a slightly lesser pitcher with C. Pena to no avail. Thanx for the help

Loney's lack of pop at 1B has him on the FA wire is alot of my leagues. I would also hold out.

Your P staff will be fine when your 2 DL guys come back. I thought A-Gone was a little overrated this year. Boy was I wrong. He looks like a sure 1st rounder/keeper next year. I agree with staying where you are.

I don't think this trade is even close to Adrians value. I say you get a top arm for Adrian.
