reyes rollins dynasty deal! WHIR!

Postby Xezus » Wed May 13, 2009 8:17 pm

Offered His rollins and beckett for my reyes

10 team H2H dynasty league
C-Wieters (when he gets the call)
1B-Votto
2B-Weeks
3B-Cantu
SS-Reyes
OF-Quentin
OF-Bruce
OF-Cruz
UTIL-Loney, Delgado
BN- Fukudome, D. Young, Snider, Laporta, Y. Molina (fill in C for now) and a bunch of other not need to knows haha

SP- Lincecum, Hamels, Gallardo, Lilly, Mad Max, Sean marshall, Slowey
RP-Paps, Ziegler

at face value this looks like steal for me, but im worried about rollins gettin older and off to a terrible start, and beckett although young, just doesnt seem to be his old dominant self, and is also off to a bad start. Reyes is young and could be around for a long time with his great speed, he is also starting to heat up in the past week or 2. Also id like to note my staff wins most P cats. everyweek so its not like beckett is needed.

This is tough but I would do it. Yes, Reyes has been struggling, but has shown signs of late of returning to his normal self. You are totally right about Rollins (even though he has already homered tonight) and I think that your SP isnt necessarily in need of help. I think you should hang on to Reyes and stick with what you have.

I wouldn't do it. I don't see Rollins ever hitting 30 HR again, maybe not even 20. Without the pop, a speedy shortstop loses a lot of value. Beckett is solid and should be for the next few years, but its not worth the downgrade. Hold on to Reyes.

It's very close, but I like the deal. That said, I've never played in a dynasty league, so I don't really know how much long-term value factors in. I guess it comes down to your position this year. If you're going for it all, make the deal. If this year is out of reach, keep Reyes.

In a dynasty, I'd stick with what you got.
Dominate is a verb. Dominant is an adjective.

in either league (redraft or Dynasty), I'd stay put. I'm not a huge fan of Beckett and like mentioned previously, Rollins is getting older and I'm a little nervous about him consistently producing in the upcoming years.

thanks for helping with mine

NO WAY. Reyes is in his prime. Rollins is in his decline.
