THis is how I have it worked out: I have Beltran, Rollins, Kaz Matsui, Jose Reyes, who will all get steals, and all start on my team. Roberts' only good stat is steals, and everything else he hurts in, especially the ratio cats. Roberts is on my bench, and so will only put him in when I need steals to win the category, which I dont think will be too often with the guys I have. I have an open spot because of a 2 for 1 trade I made, so I can pick up one of those two (Dye or Bay) for free. The other I would have to drop Roberts. If I dropped Roberts, I dont think that anyone would pick him up, because nobody wants him as part of a trade, even as a throw-in.
So do you guys think that both Dye and Bay are going to have years that will put both into my starting lineup, one over Jimmy Rollins at Util and the other as my 4th OF?
I guess I have Roberts with more value than most others do. If he stays healthy he can steal 60 bases. There is no way a player like that is gonna sit on the waiver wire long. Regardless how weak he is in other categories.
If 140 Steals usually wins a league 60 steals is almost half your need. Even if he only gets 40 that goes a long way. I don't think any team is very strong when they have Jimmie Rollins as their Utility player. I would keep Roberts and pick up Bay. Dye will stay on the free agent list until he gets hot...if he gets hot. You can always pick him up then.

tike is fast, but didn't run as much as i'd thought when he came up last year. only 7 sb in 230 ab...might just be his adjustment. baseball america rated him the #1 basestealer in the minors. playing everyday, i guess we might see a .300 hitter with 30-35 sb. that is, under the assumption that he was simply adjusting last year.
you need to get rollins out of that Utility spot... he is horrendous.. you don't want his .260 avg. and no power in a starting spot.
he can only hurt your team if he starts regularly.
if dye's available, you need to get him in that utility spot... at least get some decent production there...
i would only keep rollins if you think you really need a backup middle infielder... otherwise, just cut him.
as for crede... i have to say, i don't think he's going to be much better than last year. i've seen this guy play several times, he just looks lost at the plate. i look for a .260, 19, 75 out of him... very average production.
