with the 36th pick in the draft the Dodgers select Jiovanni Mier, SS/2b, Bonita HS (CA) 6'0", 175 lb, bats right
Nothing really fits the Dodger mold right here. They like young pitchers from baseball hotbeds, but Chad James just going, I'm let guessing. I'll take a talented young guy from CA, meeting two of the three things I know about Dodgers drafting. Jiovanni has soft hands, but his limited speed make him more of a 2B in my mind. His bat can hit for average, projecting to 10-15 hr power, but he tends to be a bit of a free swinger. A solid MI type in this weak draft for hitters.
(Sorry for the delay, between work and computer problems, this is the first time I logged in since late Saturday night)

with the 37th pick in the draft the Blue Jays select Chris Dominguez, 3B, Louisville
Rationale- Blue Jays GM JP Ricciardi is a notorious drafter of college players early in most drafts and could see Dominguez as a potentially moving somewhat quickly considering his college performance. Dominguez is a free swinger but possess some of the best power in the draft. The Blue Jays lack depth at 3B within their organization and the benefits of selecting the Louisville slugger here might just be too great too pass. Also, the absence of legit college infielders in this draft figure to enhance Dominguez's draft stock.
wih the 38th pick White Sox select Josh Phegley C, Indiana
Rationale: While i'm not 100% sold on Phegley i think he is a good fit the White Sox. He is a good defensive catcher and will be staying there, he needs to continue to work on his recieving skills but is supposed so have great makeup and good work ethic. He is 5'11 but can hit for power as shown by his 29 homeruns over the last two years. I could also see the Sox going with one of the HS pitchers who will likely fall to the supplemental for whatever reason

with the 39th pick the Brewers select Garret Gould, RHP Kanas HS
Rationale- the Brewers rotation isn't that great, their minors pitching are okay, they drafted an OF in the first round and Garret Gould has fallen out of the first round. He has a 6'4 frame and is 200lbs, his fastball ranges between 90-95, he has a great power curveball and an alright changeup. He throws with a lot of effort and doesn't have the best mechanics so some teams might consider him a relief pitcher but as a HS kid i'm sure he will be worked as a starting pitcher and will be given the time to work on that. He will not fall this far in the real draft but things for this draft seem to have no order so it could happen

with the 40th pick the Angels select A.J. Pollock, OF, Notre Dame
Rationale- Unlike many organizations, the Angels have had a relatively hard time drafting quality outfielders but that should change in this selection of Pollock. A.J. plays quality defense and has the ability to play CF. He doesn't strikeout that much and he's a very balanced player overall. The Angels will likely select a OF with all of their early picks in this year's draft.
