with the 41st pick the Diamondbacks select
Luke Bailey, C, GA HS

Rationale- The Diamondbacks are a very rich organization in terms of talent and I expect them to draft the best player available in a position they have a need at. Luke Bailey has been called by some the best catcher in this draft. The D'Backs have Montero and Snyder in the majors but don't really have a quality prospect behind home plate. Bailey would make a lot of sense here as catchers figure to go fairly early.

with the 42nd pick the Angels select
Mike Trout, OF, NJ HS

Rationale- Many scouts believe that Trout could move up and be taken in the 1st round. If the prep Trout does drop, the Angels will again draft an OF here with the ideology that Trout is very raw but very talented. Taking Pollack with their previous pick should allow the Angels the luxury to take the projectable Trout.

with the 43rd pick the Reds select
Daniel Fields, SS, MI HS

Rationale- A huge organizational need is at SS for Cincinnati. They have drafted potential shortstops in the past but most of them, though good prospects, out grew the position (see Todd Frazier). It would be a very nice move on the Reds part to draft Daniel Fields here as he has tons of potential and figures to stay here. Other SS prospects may be more polished but few have his talent.

with the 44th pick the Rangers select
Alex Wilson, RHP, Texas A&M

Rationale- A&M's Wilson here makes sound sense as he's very projectable for a college arm and the Rangers seemingly always fall short of quality pitching. Many think he might be better as a reliever as he's already had TJ surgery in 2007 but even relief help would be welcomed in Texas.

with the 45th pick the Diamondbacks select
Madison Younginer, RHP, SC HS

Rationale- Younginer has been flying up draft charts for many teams recently as he has loads of talent but lacks polish. A team such as the Diamondbacks, who have great minor league development, would do well in drafting a project and eventually reaping the rewards Younginer could provide.

with the 46th pick the Twins select
Ryan Berry, RHP, Rice

Rationale- In Twins fashion, Berry would be an ideal draftee for Minnesota as he's already a somewhat polished college pitcher. He's currently the ace for Rice and should add more pitching depth to an already loaded pitching organization as Minnesota believe that pitching is usually the way to build a winner and Berry is a winner.

with the 47th pick the Brewers select
Sam Dyson, RHP University of South Carolina

Rationale- The Brewers would be lucky is SC's Sam Dyson slipped this far as he has an electric arm that still needs to be harnessed. He could be a reliever or a starter but he he pitches near triple digits and a team able to mold his rawness would do excellent drafting Dyson here.

with the 48th pick the Angels select
Brad Boxberger, RHP, USC

Rationale- The only thing knocking Boxberger down in the draft is his consistency to throw with control. He has great stuff and a lot of poise and would be a gift in this pitching heavy draft here for the Angels.

with the 49th pick the Pirates select
David Renfroe, SS, MS HS

Rationale- With the final pick in the supplemental 1st round, the Pirates will likely go with the player with the most upside available. This organization has a lot holes within it but finding a projectable prep shortstop with marquee talent here would be fine thinking but not the easiest thing to do. David Renfroe would be an excellent selection as long as he can stay at SS but he should field well enough to stay and should hit to become a quality pro here.

done...prior to the 1st official pick. I'm watching the draft on the MLB Network as we speak and this was fun and I hope it all works out.
