Joe's always been a batting average stud but since he's come off the DL he's been hitting for more power than we're accustomed to, a fact very much welcomed by us Mauer owners. So, is this just a little surge from Joe or is he starting to find his power?

He's always been able to hit for power but the Twins needed a high average guy over a mediocre power guy. But, now he seems to spanking them out there to left. Power Mauer is a scary thing and I think (and pray a little) he will be here to stay.

I won't hazard a prediction. I'm just going to be happy with anything I can get from him. O:-)

a couple of things i've noticed with his dingers, since i've seen 3 of them so far. 1. they all look like line drives and 2. he hit them all to the same spot in left center. i wouldn't be surprised if he's developing a bit more power, but i wouldn't expect him to keep up his current pace.

Mauer hit another home run last night, making it 5 this season and in just 48 at-bats. He has only hit five homers in a month once in his career, back in 2004 when he did it when a .254 batting average. This time around, he's doing it with a .400 plus batting average and is suddenly putting up a HR/FB ratio that you would expect from Ryan Howard. Hopefully he can keep this up and push 20 for the year because Mauer batting .320+ and putting up good power numbers for a catcher makes him very scary.

Power Mauer has been unleashed. Not to mention since his return the Twins are on a tear. And, their right handers are hitting way better for some reason since he's returned. Minnesota fans are gonna start praying to this guy soon.
