volquez for holliday? WHIR guaranteed

Postby Bravos of Steel » Wed May 13, 2009 12:59 am

An owner is offering me Corey Hart, Max Scherzer, and Edinson Volquez for my Matt Holliday, Mark Buerhle, and Ervin Santana. I'm havin a real tough time accepting this trade mainly because I really think Holliday will start coming around, Buerhle's really steppin it up, and I'm not completely sold on Max Scherzer. On the other hand, Holliday may turn out to be a bust (based on his ADP) and I'll be getting Volquez. Put your myself in my shoes: Would you accept this trade? I'll post my team, and I will help in return. Leave a link fellas ;-D

Not ever, would I accept this trade.

Volquez was a later round pitcher(exactly where he should be drafted) because he K's a lot but walks way too many and most think he is due for a regression.

Add the fact that you have Ervin Santana, who has not pitched yet, and is better than Volquez in almost every way and plays for a better team.

Max Scherzer is an unknown at this point but brings K's to the game and that is all I would expect from him this year, so you get Hart for Burlehe.

Lets recap.

E. Santana >>> Volquez
Holliday >>>>> Hart
Buerhle >Scherzer

So you lose every single one.

:-t

If you accept this trade quit fantasy baseball and take up knitting.

Now way, the owner is obviously selling high on Volquez because he has had a couple solid starts this trade doesn't help you
