ok the trade is pending and will go through in a couple'a days for sure (only the commish can zap it)

that said, i've slept on little proto-closers and spot save guys cuz the league is set up with only 2 RP slots and 2 P slots, so the max you can have is 4 closers unless you've got morrow.

juan cruz just went the other day... who do you grab in the hopes they get saves?!@

people have beimel already. hawkins has obviously been gone for awhile


i've lost my #1 closer and i'm one save up on the league and it looks like 2 or maybe 3 people have the juice to pass me, so who do you go for?!@

here's hoping that youk can get more power, like up to 30ish HRs and somehow hit like .350 and drive in 120+ and score 100 runs, cuz as of right now even with missing 6 games or whatever yahoo has him ranked #27 all in fantasy baseball.

oh yeah and would you dangle asdrubal cabrera and his impressive start (he's the 60th ranked player or so, and i think the #3 or #4 shortstop... i got him and he's been like .333 with 8 runs 5 RBI and 4 SB) for jhonny peralta?!@

i'm trying to scrounge the on-the-cheaps bucket and have made pitches for jimmy rollins manny ramirez a-rod and now peralta, who actually is starting to hit cuz he's had back to back 3 hit games, and i think a few games b4 those he had another 3 hit game.

if he can be like 20-25/75+ at shortstop. as long as i've got steals and runs coming in, i should be aight, henceforth where i hope youk can be a .330 hitter cuz getting him at .393/6/20 with 23 runs means that barring a magical chipperesque season i'm going to have him at like .270 or something, which is prolly why this guy wanted to trade him much like i did in another league where i turned joey votto's .373/3/15 along with miguel tejada into jason bay (who has been like .370/6/21/3 since i got him)

also in that league jay bruce was on waivers early in the year so i've caught like 8 of his HR (tho he's been benched for about 3 or 4 of them) and my OF is crowded to the tune of having braun, bay, bruce, willy-mo-taveras, and vlad on the DL.

i've sat taveras here and there and man oh man, i got him in the lidge deal (daisuke and konerko for lidge and taveras) cuz i need steals and so far so good as i've gone from having like 8 HR in the first month or so up to about 39 and i've gone from being dead last 12/12 ~70 points out to 5/12 and 36 points out

agreed. I would even think of moving some of that great starting pitching for a solid power hitter, Lincecum for Quentin/Braun/Lee?

hmmm, lincecum seems to be a notch or so below where he was last year, it's just that i've had terrible luck with getting any SP outside of my big five, as i've used jeremy guthrie for a start, justin masterson for two (those two 6 ER games) jason marquis for a game (5 ER. i mean he went the distance with a 4 hit 1 ER performance the last game... errrgh) dallas braden (two starts 4.50/1.33 or something with 9 K in 12 IP but no wins... i dropped him for cecil, who seems to be the next young jays first round pick (he was supplemental) to come up and pitch his arse off, much like ricky romero, who i've still got on the DL... anyone know when he's due back!?@

part of me wants to hold out a little bit longer and milk more of my fo'sho SP and get the ERA lead and get within a few points of the WHIP lead before i consider it, but yeah, people have tried to cherrypick hamels from me thus far, so i've tried doing things like nelson cruz and hamels for adam dunn and matt garza... no luck thus far.

i should've lusted for justin upton earlier... i had him in 3/4 leagues, dropped him when they talked minors a week into the season, and got him back right around the time he started his hitting streak and now he's gangbusters and fo'sho OF in my other 3 leagues, where i'm 5/12, 1/12, and 2/12.

but yeah with all of this parity i want to catch up offensively, cuz while i do want to have the saves crown and i was 75-85% sure i was going to have it, trading my best closer (even tho frank francisco has more saves and a 0.00 ERA and a win even) and leaving me with gregg (altho i have marmol backing him up) and percival (who always makes me worry) has me ennngh... cuz this is a savvy league and people are up on tehir stuff.

i grabbed michael wuertz cuz someone else has bailey, but he's got a pedigree and track record and it's not like ziegler was setting the world on fire beforehand.

i'd get leo nunez, but short of that one horrible game lindstrom has been fine, i think those are the only runs he gave up... i'm mulling getting ryan madson in this league, cuz lidge has been horrible and is like 5.63/1.89 or something and i've got him in another league and had madson when his knee was crappy, so i'm thinking about madson in this league in case lidge is still actually hurt or keeps on sucking, even tho he's blown only one save and has been lit up in non save opportunities.

also zumaya is available, and i'd bet that zumaya will close by year's end... it's just a matter of what to do

dude if i were you id go grab downs if you dont have him already.........roto just announced bjs not gonna be closing but downs will remain in the role, so i was extremely lucky and made that prediction this morning.....my first decent move this year as far as FAs go. So if u ened a closer do that up soon and nice. lemme know how it goes

You Will lose ground in saves with that trade, but Youkilis is a stud! I would do it.

thanks for the help sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. there will be a closer that will come up. Maybe Soriano is still out there he can give you some cheap saves.
