cut Soto outright?? whir

Postby Trebor » Tue May 12, 2009 4:32 pm

1st off, I only have him cause previous owner dumped him & I snagged him as a FA. I have Napoli at Catcher, but figured take a flier on Soto, and end up with trade value. now J.Hamilton is back & most logical cut would be Soto...

should I cut Soto to activate Hamilton??

or drop some1 (Guzman, Span) who is performing better & at a better position to help my team currently, but with less upside than Soto??

Either Soto or Cristian Guzman. He's overrated...hits for avg, but not much else. Maybe Zimmerman will drive him in more now that he's playing well. You probably gotta go Soto though...hate to say it...

I own Soto too and I've thought seriously about cutting him as well but I'd only do it if I was getting something back. He's worth more than a WW cut - I think he has more value than Span, Guzman or Theriot.

Once BJ heats back up you'll have no need for Span - if you cut Span now you'll just have to ride it out w/BJ but it's still better than cutting Soto.

Guzman has a nice average but that's about all he'll do for you. Theriot steals 20 bases per yr and that's about it.

I'd probably drop Guzman of those 3

see i agree Soto prob has more value than span-guzman...but im reading he has shoulder issues...and that scares me. v-mart had shoulder issues last year, ppl kept expecting him to bounce back (like they are soto) and dude finished with like 1 homer last year.

ugh...
