Help with Keeper Draft

Postby BigT » Thu Mar 06, 2003 12:46 pm

I need a 2B in a keeper league and my supplemental draft is coming up this friday. There are 10 teams, with the scoring categories of Runs, BA, HR, RBI, BB, and SB. I'm needing someone who can get a .300+ average and steal at least 20 bases. Here is a list of 2B already taken:
Soriano NYY
Kent HOU
Boone SEA
Castillo FLA
Vidro MTL
Alomar NYM
Walker BOS
Bellhorn CHC
Hudson TOR

Have any suggestions on who i might be able to pick up with the 6th overall pick?? thanks fellas

You can still get a good 2b that will give you both things you want. My suggestions would be (in this order)
1. Spivey
2. E Young
3. Kennedy
You could also try to get A Boone since I believe he is going to play 2b for the Reds this year. The only knock on him though is he hits for a low average.

there are a few options remaining.
adam kennedy would be the best bet, as he might not hit .300 or get 20 stolen bases, but his #'s will be close in both categories.

a couple of youngsters would help, since it is a keeper league.
check out either joe thurston or bobby hill. neither will probably hit .300, but .270 to .280 isn't that outrageous, and they should also steal close to or 20 bases.

luis rivas and fernando vina are also two more options, and although rivas won't hit .300, he should reach atleast 30 sb's, and vina should hit close to .300 with a little more than 20 sb's.

Don't even consider taking any one other than Durahm. He'll score runs like crazy, hit for a decent avg., has good pop, and will easily steal 20 plus bags. Spivey isn't even in the same league as this guy. Don't let anyone tell you different.
