ok so this is my first year playing fantasy baseball. i have waiver position 1, and in my league you can trade waiver spots. a guy has offered me k-rod for my waiver spot. my question is how valuable is the #1 waiver spot. is this worth it. i play fantasy football and the waiver spot is valuable but i never valued it that much. am i missing something here? is there somethign special in baseball that makes it even more valuable?
let me know
roster: 8 player keeper head to head league start: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, Util, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP

the waiver spot is only as valuable as the best player you think will be available to claim. he probably has his eye on some prospect that he hopes will be the next braun or longoria, but i cant imagine anyone who will help you more this year than krod. take it, drop masterson, and enjoy
would you do molina and the spot for k-rod and saltalamachia?
his pot is #6.
yea thats what i was thinking, i dont think anyones ever gonna drop anyone better than k-rod that i can snag with the spot. and we dont have a waiver system so all players are just free agents unless they are dropped.
hes also brought his sizemore and my kemp into the discussion
sizemore/krod/ for kemp/masterson/spot
or if he doesnt like that
sizemore/krod/salt for kemp/masterson/molina/spot
would you do either of those?
Yes I'd do either. Sizemore is an upgrade on Kemp, especially without Manny's bat in the Dodgers lineup. I'd try for the first one first, then if he doesn't like it, go for the second one.
