Ortiz for Blalock...100% WHIR!!!

I was sent this offer this morning:

His: Blalock

I have had it with Ortiz! Yes, I realize it is only the beginning of May but Ortiz looks slow and lost. I have also had it with Atkins! They are both killing me right now. Now I realize Blalock isn't going to set the world on fire but he is hitting in a good lineup, at a hitters park and he is producing (RBIs, Runs & HR). I know Blalock will never hit for a good avgerage but I feel that Atkins is lost without Holliday in the lineup.

I will plug Lind at my Utility Spot and start Blalock at 3B. What does everyone think?

Wow, tough one. You know Blalock is going to get hurt. That being said...I dont think Papi turns it around all that much this year. A lot of people who know baseball say that his swing is no longer the same. I think you should try to find someone who is trying to buy low, but see if you can do better than Blalock.

I wouldn't do that. Ortiz still has too much upside to trade him for Blalock. Atkins on the other had is getting annoying. I feel your pain, because I'm an Atkins owner as well. If anything I'd just DH Lind and drop Swisher so I can pick up another 3b to play for atkins right now.

I would not accept that trade. Granted Blalock is on fire right now and Ortiz is pretty cold, however the upside favors Fat Pappi and I think he will turn it around.

I think you should be able to get more for Ortiz then Blalock. Blalock has burned me many a season, so I'm somewhat biased on this, but he will get hurt multiple times this season, so when he plays, yes, he's good, but you'll get more ABs from Ortiz then you will Blalock. They are both on powerful line ups, so they should both remain somewhat productive. Since you won't get full value for Ortiz right now, I'd wait for Ortiz to string together a couple of good games and then sell as quickly as you can.
