My thinking here is that I sure up my SPers, and that this is the best trade I could manage in getting a decent bat while getting Lincecum. Am I correct on that logic? I assume that if Aroid does half-way decent this year that I made my team a better one by doing that deal. let me know.

Not a bad deal at all, however I would looking to grab Hanley. You could deal either Arod or Wright+Tulow for Hanley+a lower tier hitter or pitcher. Your outfield is fine without Beltran, and the upgrade from Tulow-Hanley is MUCH greater than it is from McClouth-Beltran.
