Beltran for ADunn & Josh Johnson WHIR

Postby yassassin » Mon May 11, 2009 1:07 am

5x5, NL-only, non-keeper, 10 teams, Yahoo
Last place guy in my league wants my Beltran for his Adam Dunn and Josh Johnson. I could certainly use the HRs and RBIs of Dunn, and I like Johnson as a starter, plus I could use another one. Beltran is on fire, but can he keep it up? Dunn will off-set the power and I can cover the SBs pretty well.
Here's my lineup:
C JBaker
1B Votto
2B BPhillips
3B Cantu
SS SDrew (DL), EBurriss
OF Beltran, Taveras, Daniel Murphy
BN Sandoval, CDuncan, Bonifacio, Maybin (AAA), CDickerson
SP JVazquez, YGallardo, UJimenez, ASanchez (DL), MBoggs
RP HBell, LNunez, Belisario

Should I pull the trigger? Don't let me make a big mistake...
Will Help in Return!!!!

Josh Johnson is a great SP, but I think you're losing too much in Beltran. There aren't too many high AVG batters in your lineup to make up the huge drop-off in average with Beltran. Try and upgrade your SP definitely, but maybe with the FA. List some options, there's bound to be a few names floating around.

I'd do this trade. Dunn will hit for a lower average but it's not like Beltran will keep his average up all year.

But in a 10 team league you should look into dropping Boni, Dickerson and Maybin.I'm sure there would be guys available who would be better options. And if you want more high risk high reward players but still better options then who you have, look into guys like Chris Coghlan, Nolan Reimold, Luke Hochevar. I'd be willing to bet atleast 2 of them are still availible.
