Big SP or Catcher trade: Def. need Advice

Postby plainyogurt » Sun May 10, 2009 9:01 pm

Need advice: I know i need to make a move to help me for the rest of the year..This is what I'm thinking'

Offered Russell martin for my Adam Dunn..Prob will turn it down, asking for Mauer out of reach with Dunn?
I think I have a bigger hole at SP, and need a #1 type SP. One manager sent out a message telling everyone he needs saves and speed..I really need SP over Catcher (dont mind molina's 310 avg)

I want to start with a low offer with this manager. (he gave me pujols last july for Rios, Jurjens and Lyon) so I think I can low ball him again.

He has Halladay, Billingsly, Lee, Cueto, Harang...

Standard 5x5 non keeper:

Sp: wainwright, lilly, kershaw, Maine, dice(Dl), 1 ww pick per week
Rp; valverde, Fuentes, rodney, Hawkins
C: Y Molina
1st/3rd/CI/util: fielder, berkman, miggy, youk
2nd/SS/mi: hill, tulo, matsui,
OF: Dunn, cruz, elsbury, bourne, Pierre, Span
Bench: jose guillen, Adam laroche, vlad(DL), alexie ramirez

Which one or two players on my roster can I deal to get one of his SP?? I dont want to part with Ellsbury..I am short on runs in the standings as well...Can I do Alexie and Matsui for one of his SP? or is that too low?
I dont want to trade Saves, because I will be low then, but if i do, I can include Rodney(he also has Zumaya, therefore will get all of DET saves) but rodney is a mess!!

Help me out. I think I really need the SP help..

Leave a link....Thanks

thanks for your help on mine

if you think you can lowball this guy, then Alexei is the guy you wanna deal. He's having a rough year this year, and I don't see it getting much better. i'd try and offer Alexei and Pierre for Cliff Lee. Lee's having a solid year this year, yet his wins haven't been coming. If it were my team and you felt like you could pull it off, this is what i'd go for.

I'd try for Billingsley first. Based on his track record, if he needs a MI Alexei and Hideki might be enought to peak his interest. The only problem is Alexei's value is probably at an all time low right now.

I doubt he would bite on Alexei because of his slow start and be willing to trade Billingsley because of his hot start. You can try it but I dont see it having a happy ending...
