Alright, I have gone back and forth with this other owner all week and here is his latest offer: MY: Jeter/Ortiz/Danks for His: Rollins/Ordonez/Nathan
Now I don't think I am going to take this but I wanted to run it by the board here to see what others thought. Every week I have lost the saves cat. and I am looking for another closer. In our league you need to start 2 RP and have the option to start another at the SP/RP. 8 out of the 10 teams in the league start 3 RP/Closers.
What does everyone think of this offer? This is the way I see it:
Rollins/Jeter = Advantage Jeter RIGHT NOW...but Rollins has the skills to turn it around and be better than Jeter.
Ortiz/Ordonez= Both are horrible right now. Who will breakout of the slump and have a decent season this year?
Danks/Nathan = Depends! Nathan is an elite closer that is not getting has chances to close early on and Danks rebounded lastnight with a good outing.
Please help! 100% WHIR!!! Below is my team: 10 Team Head2Head 5X5 C:Suzuki 1b:Berkman 2b:Phillips 3b:Atkins SS:Jeter OF:Braun, Crawford, Ibanez Util:Ortiz BN: Posada, Swisher, Lind SP:Peavy, Grienke RP: Soria, Downs SP/RP: Kazmir Danks, C. Young BN: E. Jackson, Scherzer, B. J. Ryan DL: E. Santana
I'd do it, especially if you're hurting in saves. I just don't trust Jeter at his age, and I think Rollins has to start to produce eventually - especially in that lineup in that ballpark! Danks is a loss, but Nathan should be worth it. Seems like it's generally harder to get good closers than good SPs on the waiver wire anyway.
Rollins > Jeter. Unless there's some hidden injury, I don't see why Rollins wouldn't bust out of this slump.
Ordonez > Ortiz. Sorry to say, it looks like Big Papi is finished. Ordonez has been bad too, but this level of non-performance seems to have out of the blue (much more than Big Papi). I like his bounce-back chances more. Anyway, you would have the nice option of playing Lind until he wakes up.
Nathan > Danks. I like Danks ... have him on a few teams. But you need a closer, and Nathan is arguable the best (along with Paps).
