So I know he's out another 48/49 games blah blah blah. I can't stash him on the DL. But I get the feeling he will be a monster when he gets back and he'll be awesome during fantasy playoffs. (he'll be fresh, pitchers won't be)
So I want to buy him, try and give up a couple of lower guys to free up some space on my roster for when Josh Hamilton/Lackey/Guerrero returns.
Here's my roster. What do you think is a fair trade I could make without leaving me in a big hole until Manny's back.
C: V. Mart
1B: M. Tex, Chris Davis
2B: Howie Kendrick, Alexei Ramirez
3B: Chipper, Chris Davis
SS: JJ Hardy, Alexei Ramirez
OF: Carl Crawford
Alex Rios
Adam Jones
Josh Hamilton (DL until Tuesday)
Vlad Guerrero (DL for another couple weeks)
Alexei Ramirez
I'd rather not give up any of my pitchers, I'd rather give up 2 bats for Manny.
So I'm not in huge need of Steals right now, but I'm personally putting Carl on my (do not trade) list. Maybe Adam Jones and Chris Davis for Manny might be fair, or am I still giving up too much and I might be able to squeeze even more out? Maybe Hardy and Chris Davis?
What do you guys think I could suck out of the guy holding onto Manny? Here's his current roster...
C Yadier (He just dropped Soto, which I'm kinda thinking may have been stupid but Soto has been sucking it pretty bad)
1B: Dunn, Berkman
2B: Orlando Hudson, Scutaro
3B: Russell Branyan, Scutaro
SS: Jason Bartlett, Scutaro
OF: Sizemore
Lind
Damon
Dunn
Manny
I also think he's trying to stack his team full of relievers to get closes and be either feast or famine on ERA, I'm kinda doing the opposite, I have absolutely no closers on my team, just giving up on saves for the year because this guy has 5 closers on his team. So I think a trade involving pitchers will fail between our two teams given our strategies.
