Joba Chamberlain broke a blood vessel in his throwing hand Saturday during batting practice and may not be able to start on Sunday.
Chamberlain was tossing a ball back to the infield when he felt a pop. "He threw a ball in and he looked down at his thumb and he felt something and looked at it. He popped a blood vessel and he got some treatment during the game," manager Joe Girardi said late Saturday night. "We don't think it will be an issue but we have to protect ourselves." Alfredo Aceves will get the nod if Joba can't go. May. 9 - 11:30 pm et
