I was offered Ramirez for Uggla what do you guys think? I have quentin, tori hunter, and cruz has my outfielders now its a 12 team head to head league.... Not sure if Im willing to pull the trigger on this. I have Cabrera from Cleveland to play 2nd if I made the deal... any suggestions?

wow, he must be an idiot.
ramirez is not only done for this season but probably will fade away into dismay just like others after getting busted as juice monkeys.
if i had manny on my team i would have dropped his ass
Look at it objectively. Ramirez will be back in July. It's sort of like carrying a non available player like Wieters. Hold on to Manny, and if you trade him, you need to get a hell of a lot more than Uggla.
I never smile if I can help it.... Showing one's teeth is a submission signal in primates. When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life.

...what? Really? You can't be serious. Manny's not "done for the season", even in the literal sense. He'll be back in July and still have around three months' worth of games left to redeem himself. Keep in mind that with just two months in '08 he pretty much hit the Dodgers into the playoffs. Granted, there's a lot of question marks surrounding Manny Ramirez, but, in terms of production, the biggest one that you would have to ask yourself is the probable effects that coming off of HCG will have on his numbers once he comes back. Uggla's been terrible lately, and although I'm sure he'll eventually pick it up again, I feel that Asdrubal Cabrera would be a fine starting 2B too should you let Uggla go. There's obvious risk involved, but the pay-off has the potential to be huge when he does come back (which is near fantasy playoffs, mind you), and I think that whatever you lose in production with the loss of Uggla will be more than made up by Cabrera and Manny. If you the OF talent to absorb not having Manny active for the next couple months, I would definitely pull the trigger on this.
I hope my rambling was of some help to you.

ya it was actually the most helpful post i've gotten so far...My roster looks like this maybe this will help with a more accurate answer C) Posada Injured so now Pudge Rodriquez 1b) Mark Teixeria 2b) Dan Uggla SS) Asdrubial Caberra/ Johnny Peralta 3b) Chris Davis OF) Tori Hunter OF) Nelson Cruz OF) Carlos Quentin U) Ryan Howard
Bench Jeff Francoeur Coco Crisps Pablo Sandoval Alberto Callaspo

Good to hear, glad I could be of help. Looking at your full lineup, I would definitely do it. Slot Cabrera at 2B, and I feel that Johnny Peralta will turn things around very soon. If you want someone a bit hotter at the moment, see if Guzman on the Nats is lurking around waivers, he might be worth picking up if Peralta is still working some kinks out. Also, I noticed that you had Posada starting and picked up Pudge to fill-in for him - are Rod Barajas or Yadier Molina still availible in your league? If so, I would look into either of those guys over Pudge, as I feel they have more upside and hit in better lineups than Rodriguez does.
