Trade Richmond or Martis...Very Deep League - WHIR

Postby rockchalk » Sat May 09, 2009 6:11 pm

I'm in a 24 team HTH league with 25 man rosters plus 30 minors. It is a full keeper league. It's as close to real baseball as I've ever seen.

Every single SP in baseball is owned so they all have at least some value. So if you were to trade away either Scott Richmond or Sharon Martis who would you be most inclined to move. Richmond has more value right now but at 22 Martis could end up very good and this is a full keeper league.

Thanks in advance.

Richmond is playing way over his skis right now, and you will never have a better sell opportunity, so he's the guy I'd move for that reason alone. I would also consider moving him because in a league like this, Martis might have some long term value as he should stick in a very mediocre Nats rotation. He's got a pretty good offense behind him in Washington, and he's an NL pitcher (which also tips the scale in his favor). I would definitely try to move Richmond. I would consider buying low on Shaun Marcum while he's injured, in a league like this, I have to imagine a great way to get ahead is to buy exceptionally low on injured players. Also, seeing how deep your rosters/minors are, I think it would be wise to see if you can nab a few lower ceiling minor league pitchers as well to fill out your roster. Being a Giants fan, some guys that come to mind from their system would be Henry Sosa (pitching well in AA Connecticut), Scott Barnes and Kevin Pucetas. I have to imagine guys like that are invaluable in your league. If you don't mind, I could really use some help on a trade offer I'm mulling over making... thanks in advance.
