Completely baffled about who to drop, so A-Rod can join team

Postby D.Piston » Sat May 09, 2009 5:16 pm

So, I'm in 3rd place (10 team H2H) and I already missed out on A-Rods welcome back homerun and he's still on the bench. I've tried trading to get a tier 2 closer, but no one wants to trade.
:-o

First, I was about to drop Felipe Lopez, but I feel like he is very valuable because of his multi-positional status. Even more valuable to me because Chone Figggins is my only 2B option (Injury proned player right?)
Then, I was thinking Scott Downs because it seemed like BJ Ryan was going to come back and get his jon back even though Downs has been rocking out.
Next, I was thinking Maholm because he just had a bad game today, maybe he's going to cool off a little? Since now though, he's pitched very well.
Finally, I was thinking maybe I should drop Ziegler because I feel like I have one too many RPs for my team.

*Wieters is available too, does anyone know if I can put a NA player in a yahoo league DL spot? If so, maybe I can drop Pablo Sandoval and put Wieters on the DL bench. Thanks, WHIR- leave a link and I will try my best if I know the answer.

You could probably pretend A-Rod is still injured and get away with it until your next DL stash since your lineup is fairly balanced as is. If you really want to put A-Rod back in your lineup though, maybe consider dropping Maholm especially if your league counts Losses -- he won't really win alot of games in Pittsburgh.

Arod should be in your lineup all day everyday he's healthy, drop Maholm or Ziegler and start getting what you paid for, no way he should spend one more game on your bench. Since you waited on Arod it shows you're patient, I say drop paBLOW (you won't even start him anymore once arod gets the nod at 3rd) and pick up wieters and stash him for when he comes up, as even if he lives up to half the hype it will be well worth the FA pickup and the stats you miss out on when sandoval gets the start when you have free room, we're talking MAX 1.5 starts a week, I think you can do without the decent average, as that's all he really offers
