Give up Hamilton/A-Gon for Wright/K-Rod?

Postby chargersfan36 » Sat May 09, 2009 3:56 pm

Some significant juggling has been going on with my line-up and this is another trade on the table. 12 team 5x5 roto league. I'm in first place thanks to good starts from Haren and Billingsley, both of whom I've traded.

I give: Hamilton, A. Gonzalez, U. Jimenez

I get: D. Wright, F. Rodriguez, M. LaPorta

*edit: new offer
I give: Beltran, A. Gonzalez, U. Jimenez

I get: D. Wright, Volquez, M. LaPorta

C - B. Molina
C - Napoli
1B - A. Gonzalez
2B - K. Johnson
3B - Fontenot
SS - Bartlett
CI - Bonifacio
MI - Uggla
OF - Beltran
OF - Granderson
OF - Span
OF - Andruw Jones
OF - Fowler
Util - David Ortiz
BN - Hamilton
DL - Aramis Ramirez
DL - Glaus
P - Kazmir
P - Scherzer
P - C. Young
P - Harden
P - Grabow
P - Soria
P - Fuentes
P - Marmol
P - Bailey
BN - U. Jimenez
BN - P. Hughes
DL - K. Escobar

The other day my 3B and CI were A-Ram and Lowell. The first is hurt, the second I traded before the first was hurt. :-B

I think I am giving up too much for Wright and that I am potentially solid at closer. He doesn't have much of a starting staff; there's nobody I'd swap in for K-Rod. However, I am looking like crap at 3B and CI so maybe this could be helpful. What do you think?

I like it. Wright is a notoriously slow starter. And yeah, you're CIs are weak, while your OF is pretty good. Plug in Ortiz at 1B and hope for the best.

Thanks for the help.

I actually like the trade for you. Yes, your closer is pretty good in soria. However, let's face it, Fuentes is just about to find his self in the minors. Your infield could use Wright's presence, and the addition of K-Rod only means good things for your bullpin, as it allows marmol or bailey to become expendable.

Cheers,

I personally wouldn't do it. I know Wright is a slow starter and will put up big numbers eventually but Hamilton and AGon are no slouches. I think you will get more production from AGOn and Hamilton than you will from Wright this year and would stay put and not worry about your closer situation at least in this deal.

thanks for your help with mine

I appreciate the responses. I've started talking to the guy about a possible 3-way trade that would get me a starter in return instead of K-Rod. Do you think this would be a good deal?

I get: Wright, Liriano, LaPorta

I give: Hamilton, A. Gonzalez, U. Jimenez

Doesn't really matter what the other 2 guys get.

I can't decide if I like that, or if it would be too tough on my offense. Hamilton put up pretty sick numbers last year...

Thanks.

I like the first deal better with k-rod, but I think it's too much to give up

OK last option.

I get: Wright, Volquez, LaPorta

I give: Beltran, A. Gonzalez, U. Jimenez

I think I'd be up for that.

Thanks for all the help.

I like the first deal better. I know you need 3B help, but you'd be giving too much. I dont think Wright will make up for Beltran & A Gon..A Gon is one of the most underrated 1B.

I like the second trade a lot better than the first, but I still dont think either would benefit you enough to go through with them.

Thanks for my help!
