David Wright Hitting Order

I know Beltran is hot but why have Wright hitting 5th, he is a better hitter than Beltran and this really takes away from his value, doesn't it? Any insight to why the skip has moved him to 5th in the batting order and if it will continue? I really think this top of the order would do much better:

Castillo
Wright
Beltran
Delgado
Murphy

wright should be hitting third and will be back there soon. he's just been slumping so he's hitting fifth to take some pressure off, i presume. as a wright owner, i don't like it one bit.

Guys, you're letting bias get in the way of performance. Beltran has been red hot. It's not in the least surprising that he's hitting third instead of right at this moment. Wright's swing is much different than last year. Gotta wonder how that will play out.

As long as Beltran stays hot, he will bat 3rd. It's not like Wright is "such a better hitter" than Beltran, Beltran is a stud in his own right.

I am not taking anything away from Beltran nor his talent, but for the long haul Wright is a more consistent hotter from May on. I know he is Teixera like with his Aprlil numbers, but I just see Beltran or Delgado more suited for the 5 hole.

I agree 100%. I think the best lineup would be Wright, Beltran, Delgado 3, 4, 5 or move Wright 4, and Beltran 3. He is striking out at an alarming rate this year. I am not sure why, but it is concerning to me.

Having watched nearly all of the Mets games this year, Wright has been absolutely lost at the plate. He is slowly starting to come around but he is still not comfortable up there. From a sheer productions standpoint, I have no problem with the Mets batting him 5th right now, it is where he belongs. I realize he loses out on the protection, but he can't seem to hit a fastball right out over the plate at this point so he doesn't belong hitting 3rd again until he turns the tide.

Once Beltran cools off, which will happen sooner or later, and once Wright turns it up again, which also should happen sooner or later, I would expect it to flop again.
