Balance vs Power...

Postby TheGinner » Sat May 09, 2009 5:32 am

So I've been pondering... Are you really supposed to balance your fantasy team? Or are you supposed to improve in teh categories that you already have strength in?

I dont play in a 5x5 league, but a 9x9 with some fun cats, but if I were to play 5x5 i would feel it's smart to:

take: AVG, HR, RBI W, SV, ERA

lose: SB, R (crawfords, hanley-lead-offs, reyes'ss')
lose: K, WHIP (every reliever you've ever cried yourself to sleep to. Either does one or the other, never both)

pitching: (only draft the best relievers, maybe one ace, if you only worry about 3 categories on offense, drafting would be easier.)

Having a .600 winning percentage could make the playoffs.. and that's all that matters at this point and time right? ;-D ;-D

I pretty much build my team around the 5x5 format even though I play with:
14 team Yahoo H2H REDRAFT
R H HR RBI SB CS TB AVG
W L SV ER K HLD ERA WHIP QS

2 out of 3 championships cant be wrong!
